Jamshedpur: District BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand Friday iterated the demand to put an end to the quota system in school admissions. He said the East Singhbhum district administration had given positive response to his demand for action against private schools keeping seats reserved under various quotas.

In a press statement issued today, Anand said, The office of the Deputy Commissioner has directed the district education officer and the district superintendent of education to take action against private schools blocking admission seats in the name of quota. As a matter of practice, private schools conduct separate lotteries for different quotas. This should stop now with the district administration coming into action.

Anand said many private schools extort parents to ensure admission to their little ones through the backdoor. He said the administration should ensure smooth admissions without corruption.
