Jamshedpur BJP leader jailed for road blockade

Jamshedpur: BJP Azadnagar Mandal president Md Nisar Ahmad surrendered in the court of 1st Class Judicial Magistrate Aparna Kumari from where the court sent him to jail.
The case pertains to 2017 when a resident of Azadnagar was killed in a road accident near the Marine Drive. Nisar went to the spot with his supporters to demand compensation for the bereaved family. According to Nisar, after he and his supporters had left the spot, members of other political parties, in anger, had blocked the road and pelted stones at the police.
Md Nisar Ahmad is considered a BJP pillar in Azadnagar and other Muslim majority areas. He is the only Muslim member who has been working for the saffron party and minister Saryu Roy as a result of which his stature among the public is on the up.
