Three, including BJP leader’s elder son, die in tragic road accident
Jamshedpur: A tragic road accident in Kokar, Ranchi, late on Monday night claimed the lives of three young men, including Agni Besra (25), the elder son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Basco Besra. The accident occurred when the victims were returning to Gamharia after attending a wedding ceremony in a Scorpio (registration number JH 05 DM 1737).
According to reports, the vehicle collided with a Thar, leading to the fatal accident. All three occupants of the Scorpio lost their lives on the spot. The tragic news sent shockwaves through the community, with a wave of mourning spreading across the area.
As soon as people heard about the incident, they gathered at Basco Besra’s residence to console the grieving family. At around 4:30 PM on Tuesday, Agni’s body was brought from Ranchi to his ancestral home in Sitarampur. A somber atmosphere engulfed the village as family members and locals broke down in grief upon seeing his body.
Following traditional rituals, the body was kept for public viewing for half an hour before being taken to Parvati Ghat for the last rites. The cremation was conducted with heavy hearts and tearful farewells.
Tragically, this is the second road accident to impact the Besra family. Last year, Basco Besra’s younger son, Anmol Besra, also lost his life in a similar accident, deepening the sorrow for the grieving family.
The accident has once again raised concerns over road safety and reckless driving. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause and prevent further such tragedies.
