Jamshedpur BJP jan akrosh rally against police torture 

Jamshedpur, February 16: BJP holds jan akrosh (public anger) rally to protest police torture of party workers at Bodam on Wednesday. 
The BJP leaders have alleged that Bodam Police under East Singhbhum district, had tortured and humiliated general secretary of Bodam Mandal of Jugsalai assembly constituency, Sukhdev Singh Sardar and Angad Singh Sardar, on suspicion of theft and were taken to the market wearing handcuffs. 
The Jan Akrosh rally was organised at Hattalla Maidan under Bodam area in protest against the incident.
In the ‘Janakrosh Rally’ organized under the leadership of BJP Jamshedpur president Gunjan Yadav, thousands of workers including MP Bidyut Varan Mahato, state minister Rita Mishra, senior leaders, besides Bodam Mandal President, lodged a protest against the police action.

Addressing the Janakrosh rally, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Varan Mahato said that the honor and respect of BJP workers cannot be compromised under any circumstances. The incident of torturing an innocent tribal BJP worker by Bodam police by bringing him to the police station and then tying him with handcuffs, ropes and roaming the whole market will not be tolerated under any circumstances. 
Expressing outrage over the incident, Jamshedpur MP described it as a barbaric act. He said that atrocities on workers would not be tolerated at all. The officials and political parties should always remember that power keeps coming and going and demanded strict action against the guilty police officer at the earliest.

BJP Jamshedpur unit president Gunjan Yadav said that the police committed atrocities on innocent BJP workers without investigation and party would oppose it at every level. 
 He also warned the police that criminals are becoming unbridled in the state, the public is frightened by the incident of robbery and murder in broad daylight. In such a situation, instead of giving a safe environment to the public, the police is also engaged in intimidating the people. He said that if action is not taken in the matter soon, the BJP will be forced to decide the next strategy and force the agitation.

After the rally, BJP workers reached Bodam police station in the form of procession: After the public outcry, BJP workers marched on foot in the form of procession and marched to Bodam police station. During this, the workers started raising slogans of police administration Murdabad in the police station premises itself. By registering a written complaint against DSP Sumit Kumar in the police station, BJP demanded strict action.
