Jamshedpur, Oct 12: Under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp” (Self-Reliant India Mission), a West Assembly-level conference was organized on Sunday at the Manas Auditorium, Tulsi Bhavan, Bistupur, Jamshedpur. The event was presided over by Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha and was attended by newly appointed Jharkhand BJP Executive State President and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, along with senior leaders including MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, State Minister Nandji Prasad, former MP Abha Mahato and others.
The conference commenced with lighting of lamps and floral tributes to the portraits of the party’s founding leaders. Hundreds of party workers pledged to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
Addressing the gathering, Aditya Sahu highlighted the importance of the campaign in realizing PM Modi’s “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision. He emphasized, “The goal of this campaign is to empower every Indian to be self-reliant. Citizens will be encouraged to buy indigenous products and shopkeepers to sell them.” Sahu detailed India’s progress under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp, including the rise of domestic manufacturing in electronics and defense and India becoming the world’s second-largest mobile manufacturer with over 200 production units established since 2014.
Sahu also criticized the state government, saying, “While the central government has implemented GST reforms and other economic measures for public welfare, Jharkhand’s rulers are concerned only with their political gains and commissions, ignoring people’s interests.” He urged citizens to promote local products during upcoming festivals like Diwali and Chhath.
MP Bidyut Baran Mahato added, “Adopting and promoting indigenous products will boost India’s economy. The recent GST rate cuts are a significant relief for both citizens and traders.” Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu praised the campaign, saying, “India is advancing rapidly in self-reliance and strengthening its global identity through Make in India.”
State Minister Nandji Prasad stressed that the campaign’s success depends on every citizen supporting local industries. The program concluded with a welcome address by Sudhanshu Ojha, proceedings by Deputy District President Sanjeev Sinha, oath reading by District Secretary Anil Modi and vote of thanks by Deputy District President Rajiv Singh.
