Jamshedpur, January 18: A busy day of grassroots football unfolded at the JRD Sports Complex on Saturday, with Under-9 matches taking centre stage and showcasing the growing enthusiasm among young players. Matches from Rounds 8, 9 and 10 were played at the Archery Field, featuring several impressive performances.
In the Under-9 category, Biswajit Manimela FC stood out with convincing victories over Turf Green Warriors FC (3–0) and Turf Red Warriors FC (6–0), while also playing out a 2–2 draw against Mini Maverick. Red Bulls also impressed, registering dominant wins against Melwood FC (5–0), JRD Junior (11–1) and Turf Green Warriors FC (3–0). Singh Is King continued their good form with wins over Tinplate Super Seven (5–0) and Turf Green Warriors FC (3–0). Mini Maverick defeated Turf Red Warriors FC and LPS Loyola by identical 3–0 margins. Several matches ended in draws, reflecting healthy competition among teams.
Under-7 matches at the Turf Ground saw Loyola Deo Juvante Elite record a massive 13–0 win over JFC Red Rebels, while Tinplate Super 7 beat Royal FC 11–0. Close contests and big wins marked the day.
In the Under-5 category, young players enjoyed valuable match exposure, with Loyola Ronaldo and Loyola U-5 (D) posting big victories.
