Jamshedpur, July 20: On Saturday, Bhuinyadih Basti residents, under the leadership of Jharkhand State General Secretary of Youth Congress Rakesh Sahu, met CO Manoj Kumar at the Jamshedpur Block Office. They protested against the encroachment notices issued to 150 houses built on the riverbank in Kalyan Nagar and Indira Nagar Basti, among other areas.

The residents, who had received the notices, had not responded initially. CO Manoj Kumar instructed them to submit their responses by Tuesday. Youth Congress leader Rakesh Sahu assured the residents that he would consult legal experts on the matter and emphasized that no house in Bhuinyadih, Kalyan Nagar, Indira Nagar, and Chhaya Nagar would be allowed to be demolished.
Present at the protest were Jamshedpur East Assembly President Neeraj Sahu, Raunak Kumar, Shibu Bhuiyan, Vice President Gautam Sahu, Rahul Singh, Rahul Saw, Ajit Singh, Pratima Devi, Dilip Gorai, Jitendra Prasad, Santosh Sahu, and other residents. The Jamshedpur Circle Officer had issued the demolition notices, causing widespread fear among the affected residents in Bhuinyadi and adjoining areas under Sitaramdera Police Station.
