Al Qaeda operative arrested in Saudi

Jamshedpur, Aug. 10: The district police came into action after city-based suspected operative of Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) was arrested by special cell of Delhi police’s anti terrorist unit from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. The Delhi police took him into custody.

The suspected AQIS operative, is Syed Zishan Ali (34) son of Syed Riqubul Hider Ali, a resident of Holding No 40 on Road No 14, West Zakirnagar in Mango.

Hider (68) who is a former employee of Tisco Growth Shop said he is aware about his son’s arrest from Saudi Arabia. “We have received information about Zishan’s arrest through my lawyer last night.� I am not in a position to say as my son who did not return home ever since he left home nine

years ago.� But so far I know Zishan, he is innocent.� He had gone to Saudi Arabia for job only,” said Hider.

Hider said the police and investigating agencies sleuths were coming regularly to him seeking information Zishan and his elder son Arshiyan and had come today also.

“I will not say anything else without consulting my lawyer. My son is innocent and he will come out as free,� noted his father .

The police had secured an arrest warrant against Zishan in June 2016. His name was also mentioned in a charge sheet filed against the alleged AQIS accused persons. Zishan�s brother Syed Mohammed Arshiyan, who was last spotted in Saudi Arabia, is also allegedly has links with international terror outfits. He is also wanted by the Indian agencies.

Zishan was the third suspected AQIS’ operative operative having base in the still city during the past two years.

Earlier on December 17 Abdul Sami (32) who is a resident of Dhatkidih in Bistupur was arrested by the Delhi police from Haryanan on December 17, 2015. Second suspected AQIS operative arrested was Masood Ahmed (38), also a resident of Dhatkidih on January 19, 2016.
