Jamshedpur Bars And Pubs Come Under Scanner After Himanshu Singh Murder

Jamshedpur: Bars and pubs across Jamshedpur have come under the police scanner following the murder of Himanshu Singh outside the DD Bar in Bistupur, with the state police directing an intensive inspection drive to check compliance with licensing and safety norms.

Additional Director General (ADG) Manoj Kaushik after reviewing the law and order situation at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Jamshedpur gave the orders. The meeting was attended by police officers and all Station House Officers (SHOs) of East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts, along with the newly appointed Superintendents of Police of both districts.

During the meeting, ADG Kaushik instructed all SHOs to inspect every bar and pub operating within their respective police station areas within 24 hours and submit detailed reports to the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO). He directed that any establishment found violating licensing conditions or other legal provisions should face appropriate action in accordance with the law.

Reviewing the progress of the Himanshu Singh murder investigation, the ADG said multiple police teams were conducting continuous raids at suspected hideouts to arrest the absconding accused. He added that the investigation would also extend to the financial background of the accused, including scrutiny of their assets, bank account transactions, and sources of income to uncover all possible links connected with the crime.

Kaushik also directed police officials to strengthen the emergency response mechanism. He said that information relating to any criminal incident would now be monitored immediately through the police control room, enabling prompt communication with the concerned police station and field officers for swift action.

The directions come amid heightened public concern over law and order following the fatal attack outside the Bistupur bar, with the police indicating that enforcement against violations by bars, pubs, and other commercial establishments will be intensified across the twin districts.
