Jamshedpur: Bandh supporters versus SBI manager at Bistupur

Jamshedpur, March 28: Various bank and labour unions staged demonstration on the first day of the two-day nationwide strike called by trade unions. They raised slogans against the existing economic and labour policies of the Central government.

Holding banners and posters in hands, the Bharat bandh supporters, appealed to citizens and various organizations to make the strike successful.

At Bistupur, the bandh supporters had a heated argument with the manager of the Bistupur branch of State Bank of India. They protested the bank’s decision to remain open on the day of Bharat bandh and also accused the bank manager of being an agent of the Central government.

According to the bandh supporters, the bank manager allegedly tore their posters and banners and misbehaved with them. The irate bandh supporters threatened to enter the bank premises. Later, Bistupur police reached the spot and pacified both sides.
