Jamshedpur author presents his book to Deputy Rajya Sabha Chairman Harivansh

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Literature Festival 2025 once again reaffirmed the city’s growing literary and cultural identity by bringing together art, literature and creative dialogue on a national and international platform. Organised by Vidya Deep Foundation, the two-day festival featured the participation of renowned writers, artists and eminent personalities from across India and abroad, offering audiences a rich and engaging literary experience.

The strong presence and active participation of local writers highlighted Jamshedpur’s steady emergence as an important literary hub. One of the key moments of the festival came when noted Jamshedpur-based author Ansuman Bhagat presented his book Ek Safar Mein to Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh during a prominent session. The presentation marked a significant milestone in the author’s literary journey and brought wider national recognition to his work.

Set against the backdrop of the Bollywood and television industry, Ek Safar Mein offers a sensitive and realistic portrayal of the creative struggles, dilemmas and emotional journeys associated with the world of entertainment. Through his writing, Ansuman Bhagat attempts to uncover the hidden realities behind glamour, encouraging readers to reflect deeply on the personal and professional challenges faced by creative professionals. The moment was not only a proud achievement for the author but also served as an inspiration for other writers from the city.

In addition, Ansuman Bhagat played an important role at the festival as the coordinator of the session themed Water, Forests and Public Participation, during which Padma Shri awardees were honoured with mementos in recognition of their contributions.

The festival further gained prominence with the presence of several distinguished personalities, including actor Pankaj Jha, Padma Shri awardee Kalbeliya dancer Gulabo Sapera, filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey, senior writer and journalist Sopan Joshi, noted cartoonist Abid Surti, internationally acclaimed tribal artists Manish Pushkale and Bhajju Shyam, and actor Rajesh Jais, among many others. Their participation elevated the festival’s stature and firmly established it as a significant literary event on the national stage.
