Just then, the stranger who happened to be around advised Sushila to try withdrawing cash from the Punjab National Bank ATM situated nearby. On doing so, Sushila’s ATM card got stuck in the machine. The stranger again advised her to go to the bank and complain about the ATM malfunction.

No sooner did Sushila go out of the ATM, she received seven successive messages pertaining to cash withdrawal of Rs 4.6 lakh from her account. By the time she could realize that she had been duped by the stranger, it was too late.
