Jamshedpur, April 30: East Singhbhum district administration has beefed up security ahead of Eid. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr M Tamil Vanan jointly issued an order regarding deployment of forces and magistrates at various strategic locations to ensure peace during the festival.
As many as 29 magistrates and 36 senior police officers will be deputed across the district from 2nd May to 4th May. They have been asked to keep a close watch on the law and order situation in their respective areas.
The district administration has meanwhile appealed to all citizens to be alert and make sure that they do not send or forward any provocative messages on WhatsApp or other social media platforms. Stringent action would be taken against those trying to foment communal discord through fake and provocative messages, said the SSP.
A district control room has been set up especially for Eid. Citizens can inform the control room regarding any untoward incident, officials said.
