Jamshedpur, Dec 2: In spite of several urgings, directives and warnings, the street vendors rigidly stuck to their business in Sakchi Market. They had been offered the Sakchi Ambagan Maidan (Netaji Subhas Maidan) to ply their trade.
But they continued to crowd the Sakchi Bazaar scenario highly inconveniencing market goers and shop keepers.
On Wednesday, the district and police administrations launced an eviction drive in the market in the morning dismantling the temporary stalls and seizing the commodities of the footpath sellers.
The district and police officials including SDO Dhalbhum Nitish Kumar Singh, City SP Subhash Chandra Jat and other officials along with a police team visited the Ambagan Maidan to inspect the markings for the evicted street vendors of Sakchi Market to resume their business.
