Eviction drive, campaign against drugs, peace meetings planned

Jamshedpur, February 24: East Singhbhum brainstormed on maintaining law and order during the festive season of Holi, Shab-E-Barat and Hindu New Year.

Instructions were given to speed up the action of 107 and 116. Land availability was also reviewed for the construction of new police station buildings at some places. Along with this, information about the latest progress of the construction of the watch tower to be made by the police department was taken.

The deputy commissioner East Singhbhum Vijaya Jadhav said that in order to maintain peace in the district during all upcoming festivals, it is necessary to identify sensitive places and start necessary administrative preparations from now itself and asked SDO and CO/BDO to hold meeting with peace committee in all police station areas and strengthen their intelligence system.

The SSP Prabhat Kumar gave clear instructions to all the DSPs and station in-charges to ensure that even a single  person having criminal antecedents should not become an obstacle in maintaining peace and order in the district in any way.

Directives was issued to remove encroachments on the major intersections to prevent traffic snarls.

It was asked to identify free vendor zones in the busy markets of the city like Sakchi, Bishtupur etc. and action should be taken in all the civic bodies on removing encroachment.

It was decided to run a campaign to create awareness about the increasing craze among the youth, especially among the school children, about the consumption of drugs. In this campaign led by the district administration, cooperation of NGOs working in the field of de-addiction will also be taken. The campaign will be launched in the private schools of the city, especially targeting the children of class 10-12 and slum areas.

The meeting was attended by all the senior police and civil officials, BDOs and circle officers of all blocks.
