Jamshedpur, July 29: A high level district administration meeting chaired by deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar was held to review preparation on August 15 Independence Day celebration in East Singhbhum district where in it was reinforced to observe the celebration abiding with Covid guidelines.
The deputy commissioner said that all departments should host functions adhering to Covid protocols and make the function a success. A committee was formed under East Singhbhum deputy development commissioner comprising director DRDA, SDO Dhalbhum, ADC, ADM law and order, nazarat DC, DPRO, district superintendent of education, SDPO Ghatshila, DSP traffic, DSP CCR and executive officer Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee.
It was decided that all rallies, morning procession and participation of children in cultural programs should be prohibited during Independence Day celebrations. The National Flag Hoisting ceremonies would be organised at government schools under the presence of school managing committee. The BDOs were directed to inform to the political representatives in their respective jurisdicton about the decision taken at the meeting.
It was also decided that portraits of great freedom fighters would be spruced up and cleaned by civic bodies officials and BDOs. The frontline workers of Covid-19 would be felicitated, schools should be encouraged to organise painting, drawing and other competitions virtually for students through home, the main function at Gopal Maidan would be relayed on district facebook page, the parade rehearsal would be held on August 11 and 12 while final rehearsal would be held on August 13. The main venue should be prepared by JNAC special officer along with provision of drinking water.
It was also decided that surviving freedom fighters would be felicitated by administrative officials at their homes.
