Jamshedpur: ADLS crowned champions of 1st JTS Cup

Jamshedpur, March 27: A unbeaten 65 run partnership for third wicket between Satish Raju (42 not out) and Rahul (23 not out) steered Andhra Dramatic Literary Society (ADLS) to an emphatic eight wickets win over Shree Bala Ganpati Vilas (BGV) in the finals of 1st edition of JTS Cup at Andhra School ground in BH Area, Kadma on Sunday.

Batting first after captain T Anand won the toss, Team BGV was bundled out for 72 runs off allotted ten overs.

Chasing 73 runs to win, ADLS received early setbacks after openers Chotu Rao (7) and Srinivas Raju (5) were declared leg before wickets.

However, Satish Raju and Rahul played a confident knock and an unbeaten 65 runs stand for the third wicket they registered an emphatic win with 28 balls to spare to lift the JTS Cup.

Satish Raju and Rahul tore apart the rivals bowling attack after they stepped in. While Satish Raju hit out five sixes and one four, Rahul’s swashbuckling knock included three boundaries.

Earlier in the morning, ADLS and Parvasi Andhra Vishwabrahmins (PAVS) won their respective league matches defeating Jharkhand Srivari Seva Dal (JSSD) and Shree Gouri Yuvajana Sangha respectively.

ADL scored 123 for 9 off ten overs whereas JSSD was restricted to 70 for five wickets off ten over.

In another match PAVS made 95 for three wickets off ten overs and in reply, SGYS made 80 for three wickets in stipulated ten overs.

Srinivas, Suman,  K Srinivas, BV Vinod Kumar, J Ravi, Shiv Kumar, Kali Prasad, former Jharkhand Ranji captain KVP Rao and other were present at the prize distribution.

Gautam Kumar Karri and B Harish made commendable contribution in making the tournament a grand success.

The tournament was organiszed by JTS (Jharkhand Telugu Sena) under the aegis of Telugu Community Welfare Association, for the members of Telugu Community of Jamshedpur.
