Health Minister Banna Gupta among 1266 new positives in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Aug 18: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta, former deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahato among 1266 new corona cases have been reported in Jharkhand on Tuesday, August 18 till the filing of this report. Total positives in the state have climbed to 25333. 10 people died of the virus in Jharkhand on Tuesday, taking the toll to 266. �
340 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Tuesday. 15709 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 4000 mark.
360 new cases were reported on Tuesday, August 18 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 4154.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 360 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Tuesday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
With 3 deaths in Jamshedpur on Tuesday the death toll in East Singhbhum district has climbed to 119. More than 140 patients have died across three hospitals in the city including TMH, MGM and Tinplate Hospital.
Three deaths reported in Jamshedpur include 50-year-old Sanjay Kumar resident of DB Road in Bagbera.
Another 52-year-old person of Tuiladungri who was admitted in TMH on August 15 after having breathing problems succumbed to the disease.
Third death in Jamshedpur on Tuesday was reported when 54-year-old woman from Ghorabandha who was admitted in TMH on August 9 with fever and breathing difficulties died on Tuesday.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 62, Chatra 5, Deoghar 32, Dhanbad 33, Dumka 3, East Singhbhum 360, Garhwa 9, Giridih 18, Godda 10, Gumla 40, Hazaribagh 43, Jamtara 2, Khunti 25, Koderma 16, Latehar 27, Lohardaga 4, Pakur 15, Ramgarh 12, Ranchi 426, Sahebganj 33, Seraikela 22, Simdega 14 and West Singhbhum 55. The state corona tally has climbed to 25333.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that �All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.�
