Jamshedpur: Activists tribute to Fr Stan on second anniversary

Jamshedpur, July 5: People from all walks of life, friends and colleagues  of Father Stan Swamy remembered him on his second death anniversary.

People, and well-wishers organized a silent human chain from Loyola Gate to Beldih Triangle carrying candles and placards in prayer on Wednesday evening.

“We believe that Father Stan’s death is not an end, it is another moment of awakening and reaffirming faith in the Constitution of our country. Fr Stan joins the community of tribal martyrs and all those who have sacrificed their lives to protect the secular and democratic fabric and diverse cultures of our country,” a statement said.

A large number of people participated in the silent candle lighting ceremony in memory of the late Jesuit priest.

The members sought the attention of the government, for the release of political and social workers lodged in jails and for getting proper justice to them.
