Jamshedpur accident: Rash driving proves fatal for two city teenagers

Jamshedpur, April 16: Two teenagers lost their lives to rash driving and lack of safety awareness on Saturday. Prasanjeet Ganguly (16) and Vishal Gope (18) died after the bike they rode hit a roadside pillar, sources said.

According to sources, Prasanjeet, a resident of Khuntadih, Sonari, was driving the bike with his classmate Vishal at the Airport Road in the evening. Both were class X students of Kerala Public School, Kadma. Prasanjeet had borrowed the bike from his neighbour in order to shoot their stunts at Airport Road. However none of them wore helmet.

Driving at high speed, Prasanjeet rammed the bike into an electric pole. He and his friend were critically injured in the incident. They died at the scene, bleeding profusely.

City witnessed a sharp rise in road fatalities in the last 15 days. Three persons lost their lives in Bhilai Pahari, Telco and Dimna Chowk as they did not wear helmets.
