Jamshedpur, June 22: The scheduled bail hearing for BJP leader Abhay Singh, currently incarcerated in Ghaghidih Jail in connection with the Kadma violence case, could not take place in the Jharkhand High Court on Thursday. This marks the fourth time that the bail hearing has been postponed, causing further delay in the legal proceedings. The next hearing for his bail plea has now been set for June 26.
The violent clash between two groups in Shastri Nagar, Kadma, on April 9 resulted in gunfire and widespread unrest. It took the police approximately four hours to regain control of the situation. As a result, Abhay Singh, along with other individuals, was arrested and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Despite multiple attempts to schedule the bail hearing in court, circumstances beyond the control of the legal proceedings have led to delays. The recent postponement has extended the waiting period for Abhay Singh and his legal team, who now eagerly anticipate the upcoming hearing on June 26.
