Jamshedpur, Nov 1: The top 4 seeds of the Men’s Singles category entered the semi finals of the ongoing Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking 1 Lac Prize Money Tennis Tournament 2023, being held at the tennis courts of the Beldih Club.
Justifying the rankings, top seeded Ritabrata Sarkar of Bengal pulled out a close encounter against MP’s Utkarsh Tiwari by 7-6(5),6-4. Sarkar will be up against state-mate Md Fardeen, seeded 4, in the semi finals tomorrow, who in turn got the better of Arunava Majumder by a straight 6-4,6-3. In the lower half of the draw, it was 3rd seeded Abhinansu Borthakur, finalist from the 2019 Beldih Club event, who outclassed UP’s Vashu Gupta by a clean 6-2,6-2. Borthakur will face Odisha’s Pratyush Mohanty in the semi finals. Mohanty defeated Rajasthan’s Tanmay Jha by a straight yet contesting 6-4,6-2.
Matches will start from 09:00 am tomorrow.
