Jamshedpur: 3 nabbed, two absconding in highway murder

Seraikela, August 1: RIT police station has arrested three criminals and sent them to judicial custody while solving the highway driver Tilak Mahato murder case.

The names of those arrested include Sanjay Kumar Mahato, Shahzada Alam and Mohammad Shariq. Police have recovered a country made pistol, two magazines, 5 live cartridges of 7.56 bore, a motor bike and mobiles of three different companies from them.

SP Vimal Kumar said that on July 24, Tilak Mahato was shot dead by unknown criminals near Kashidih railway tunnel under RIT police station. After which a team was formed under the leadership of SDPO Harvinder Singh.

The team raided different places in a professional manner and arrested all three. However, two accused are still absconding in this, whose arrest is being raided.

The main accused is Sanjay Kumar Mahato. He has told in his confession statement that he got Tilak Mahato murdered to avenge his insult. He told that a year and a half ago, Sanjay Kumar Mahato was made to spit by the deceased while insulting him publicly in front of the villagers. This incident has been carried out with the aim of taking his revenge. All three have accepted their crimes.

The SP told that Shahzada Alam and Mohammad Shariq are history-sheeter criminals and many cases are registered against both of them in different police stations of Chandil’s Kapali OP and Jamshedpur.
