Jamshedpur: 22-year-old youth tries to break into Kaiser Bungalow, arrested

Jamshedpur: A 22-year-old youth tried to break into a Kaiser Bungalow (Tata Steel officers quarter) in Circuit House area under Sonari police station area this morning. The youth identified Lakhan Sardar also attacked a resident of the bungalow’s out-house with a screw-driver that he was carrying. The injured, Vishwanath Kumar was rushed to Tata Main Hospital with injuries on his  back.

Soon after the incident, a unit of Mobile Tiger (cops on bike) reached the spot and took him under custody and handed over to the Sonari police station. The incident took place hardly 300 metres away from the residence of senior SP, Anoop Birtharay on Bistupur-Sonari Road.

OC, Sonari police station , Neeraj Prasad Sinha confirmed about the arrest of a youth for attempting to commit theft at a Kaizer Bungalow and inflicting injuries to a resident of the out-house of the bungalow.

“We are probing the incident. We have arrested the miscreant for trespassing and attempted theft and sent him to Ghaghidih Central Jail after producing him before a judicial magistrate,” Sinha said.

The police said the bungalow in question is lying vacant since October 12 as and has not been allotted to any one, leading the occupants of the out-house, Vishwanath to take care of it.

The miscreant had first entered into the premises of the Kaiser Bungalow No 10 at 8.30 am when Vishwanath’s wife Reena Devi had objected to the act.

“We are in state of shock.  I saw a youth was moving around the bungalow. On being asked, the youth said that a lady had sent him to inspect the bungalow and check.  When I asked him to make me talk to that lady, he refused. Then only I asked him go away.  He went but again returned by 10.30 am,” said Reena.
