Jamshedpur, Nov 19: Thieves burgled two houses in Adarshnagar, Mango, on Saturday. The burglars first broke into the house of Ashok Srivastav who stays in Adarshnagar through his roof and then sneaked into the house of his neighbour and tenant Vishnu Mahato.
The victims suspect that the thieves had used some type of sedative like chloroform. A complaint in this regard has been registered at the Ulidih police station. Srivastav realized that his house has been burgled when he woke up in the morning and saw that his house was in a state of disarray. He said that the other members of his family were feeling groggy in the morning. He later learnt that Mahato’s house too has been targeted by the thieves.
Srivastav has told the police that the thieves stole Rs 35,000 in cash along with a laptop and a mobile from his house while Mahato has said that the burglars made off with Rs 5,000 in cash along with some household goods. Later in the day, BJP leader Vikas Singh visited the victims’ houses to take stock. Singh later intimated the district administration about the burglary and pressed for quick action to bring the culprits to justice and recover stolen goods.
