Jamshedpur: 100 persons caught for violation of COVID norms

Jamshedpur, August 25:  As a follow up to Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar’s directives, the Special Officer of Jugsalai Municipality ordered inspection to ensure tnat COVID protocols were in place under the municipal jurisdiction. The team moved around Jugsalai Bazaar Mohalla, Station Road and nearby areas and nabbed 100 persons violating COVID norms that included crowding and moving about without masks. They were sent to a temporary camp set up at Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk and were made to undergo COVID tests. The people nabbed included shopkeepers. Shopkeepers who had displayed their wares on roads were directed to take them inside with immediate effect and warned of severe action if orders were not heeded. The campaign was conducted by a Jugsalai Municipality team that included Tax Inspector Gyaneshwar Prasad, Junior Engineer Mukesh Kumar Modi, Md Jalaluddin Ansari, Home Guard Santosh Kumar Yadav, Supervisor Ajay Kumar Singh, Sahendra Singh and Navin Kumar.
