Patna, March 17 (IANS) A Bihar jail official, suspended for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl, has been arrested and jailed, an official said on Thursday.
Kishanganj Jail Superintendent Kripa Shankar Pandey was sent to jail following the order of Inspector General Anand Kishor, a police officer in Kishanganj, about 400 km from here, said.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday ordered Pandey’s suspension for abusing the girl inside jail premises.
The move came after a video went viral on social media on Tuesday in which Pandey is seen abusing the girl.
Last year, Pandey faced charges of forcing female prisoners to have sex with him.
Inmates have alleged that he used to humiliate and beat them if they resisted his sexual requests.
