JAC Class VIII Board Exams Conclude in West Singhbhum

24,623 Students Appear

CHAIBASA: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) Class VIII board examinations were successfully conducted across West Singhbhum district on Monday. The exams were reported to be peaceful, with no instances of malpractice across the 195 designated centers.

Participation and Attendance

The district education department saw a high turnout for the single-day examination:

  • Total Registered: 25,630 students were issued admit cards.
  • Total Present: 24,623 students appeared for the test.
  • Absenteeism: 1,007 students remained absent.

Examination Structure & Subjects

To ensure a standardized evaluation, the examination was conducted using OMR sheets across two shifts:

  1. First Shift (9:45 AM – 1:00 PM): Focused on language papers, including Hindi, English, Sanskrit, and various regional languages.
  2. Second Shift (2:00 PM – 5:15 PM): Covered core subjects—Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.

Administration and Security

The district administration and the education department implemented rigorous systems to maintain the integrity of the boards. This included the deployment of adequate invigilators and a secure protocol for the transportation of question papers and the collection of OMR answer sheets across all 18 blocks of the district.
