Jamshedpur, August 25: J.H. Tarapore School conducted its 14th Annual English Elocution Contest on Tuesday evening.
The students were categorized into 4 groups. Group A comprised of students of classes VII and VIII who displayed their elocution skills individually and Ameena Sultan was declared the winner while Samiksha Ghosal was the runner-up.
In Group B students of class 9 and 10 delivered speeches of famous personalities like Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Mr. Nelson Mandela, Ms. Shirley Chisolm and Ms. Sushmita Sen. The first prize went to Surbhi Kumari while Prachi Kamle won the second prize.
Group C consisted of �Extempore� for the students of classes 11 and 12 were Ananya Mukherjee was declared the winner while Deepshikha Das Gupta was placed second.
In group D students of class 6 presented dramatization of poems were the children enacted poems like �The Highway Man� , �The Enchanted Shirt� and �I� Got a Golden Ticket�.
It was a spectacular display of dramatic and oratory skills. The winner was class 6 B (The Enchanted Shirt).
Deepak Kamath, Senior General Manager (HR/IR), Jusco was the chief guest for the evening who also distributed prizes to the winners.
The panel of judges comprised of Mrs.Namita Agarwal, principal of JPS, Mrs. Gurjeet Kaur, English teacher of Carmel Junior College and Ms.Debjani Majumdar of Rajendra Vidyalaya.
