Jamshedpur: In these distressing times, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur West is reaching out to two must vulnerable sections of the society – women and children.
As part of the ‘Joy of Giving Week’ 25 below poverty line women of Sonari area engaged in different jobs like house hold helper, auto rickshaw (Toto) driver, cook etc were presented with bucket, mug and soap in order to sensitize them on personal hygiene which is also a pre-requisite of COVID period.
Also 35 school going children of Janta Bustee hamlet at Sonari were provided drawing books, crayons, biscuits etc. on this occasion. It is worth mentioning that these children undergoing off-line coaching under “Gurukul” project of Inner Wheel Club’s ambitious initiative titled “Each One, Teach One”.
Since these children can’t afford online classes devoid of android phones and expensive internet connections, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur West launched “Gurukul” project on Teacher’s Day-2020 augmenting the children weekly exercises on Mathematics, English, Hindi on hard copy task module.
In last one month children overwhelmingly responding and finishing week’s task in couple of days. To motivate these children during Nutrition Week, milk, fruits, eggs etc were provided. Under the able leadership of Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur West President Nibha Mishra, Secretary Ananya Dutta, educationist Papia Chatterjee and club’s Editor Anindita Bera are executing the projects.
