
Jamshedpur, March 15: Seeing a rise in road accidents and to make the commuters aware about traffic rules, Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Jamshedpur on Friday launched traffic awareness drive at prominent roundabouts in the city.
The campaign started from Regal roundabout and was subsequently held at Beldih Club roundabout and Voltas House roundabout with the support of Jamshedpur traffic police.
At the regal roundabout traffic police officer RK Das, Deenanath Ram, Avadh Singh and woman police officer launched the campaign on Friday evening.
President of Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur, Shweta Chand made the riders aware about traffic rules and appealed them to wear helmets, seat belts for a risk free drive. She said that every other day there is news about road accidents which keeps on increasing. Daily newspapers report about fatality due to road accidents which sometimes happen due to our own mistake and at times due to other person.
Former President of the club Nalini, Kiran, Reeta, Aruna Taneja, Pasam Adesara urged the people to follow the traffic rules.
As a mark of respect, the club members gave roses to people who followed traffic rules.
