Jamshedpur: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur installed the second sanitary pad vending machine at BPM Middle School, Burmamines on Thursday.
The machine was inaugurated by PP Pushpinder in presence of school principal R.B Singh, teacher, girl students and members of the club including Aruna Taneja, Pasam Adesara, Alokananda Bakshi, secretary Mamta Trehan, Sarika, joint editor Archana, members Priti, Navita and Sudha Sabherwal.
At the event Pushpinder educated the young girls on the benefits of using the sanitary pads instead of cloth during menstruation. She also stressed upon the importance of hygiene.
The machine will be useful during emergency when in need of a pad. The vending machine will benefit 200 girl students of the school.
There after Aruna Taneja emphasized on maintaining hygiene and asked girls to carry a five rupee coin with them. She also appealed the young girls to educate the women in their family.
