Jamshedpur, May 17: Even before they could recover from the impact of last year’s lockdown, the second wave of Covid and the subsequent lockdown have dealt another blow to transgenders in Jamshedpur, who were already struggling to make ends meet.

In these difficult times, with an aim that no one should go hungry, members of Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur provided free ration to 25 transgender families. Souvik Saha of “People for Change” provided full support and cooperation in distributing ration among the transgenders. In another initiative, the club members with an aim to fulfill the hygienic needs of women during the pandemic, arranged for distribution of 1000 sanitary pads in the rural areas. Again it was Souvik Saha of “People for Change” who cooperated and supported in planning and execution of this project.
