IWC East creates toy bank for cancer-affected children at MTMH Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a heartwarming gesture, the Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East has launched a toy bank at the children’s ward of Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH), Jamshedpur, to support young patients battling cancer.

The initiative, aims to bring joy and comfort to children undergoing painful treatments by providing them with engaging toys and games. The club donated items such as Scrabble, coloring books, puzzles, tic-tac-toe, Ludo, carrom boards, Rubik’s cubes, Chinese checkers, storybooks, and other indoor play materials.

“Toys can instill a sense of optimism and provide a comforting distraction during challenging times. We hope these small gifts bring smiles to their faces and help them pass time more cheerfully,” said Madhumita Sanyal, the club president and project coordinator.

The project was carried out on December 26, with five members of the club in attendance: PP Ira Bandyopadhyay, Vice President Poonam Verma, Manjari Bhattacharya, Club President Madhumita Sanyal, and Club Secretary Sanchita Dey.

The beneficiaries of this thoughtful initiative are the young cancer patients at MTMH’s children’s ward. The club members also extended their prayers and best wishes for the children’s speedy recovery, emphasizing the importance of emotional well-being alongside medical care.
