Ivjot, Sandeep and Yeshesvi top NHES E-kata karate tournament

Jamshedpur, Dec. 18: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) conducted Intra E-kata karate tournament virtually on Saturday, December 18.

Thirty eight students participated in the event. Kyoshi L. Nageshwar Rao, chief coach at Tata Steel Karate Training Centre and vice president, Karate Association of India, M.V. Ramamurthy Raju, national referee and Priyabrat Dutta, national judge were present as the judges for of touranment.

The contest was held under three categories- Group A (Std 4,5,6- boys), Group B (Std 7,8,9-boys) and Group C (Std 4 to 9 girls). The students showcased their karate skills and were appreciated by the judges.

In Group-A   Ivjot Singh Dhanjal   (5C) was crowned the winner.  Ishan Kumar (6D) was second while   Piyush Kumar Singh (6D) bagged the third spot. In Group – B  Sandeep Kumar Mahato (9E) was declared the champion followed by  Aditya Sharma (9D) and   Yash Kumar (9D).

Yeshesvi Yadav (4C) topped Group C while  Ivneet Singh Dhanjal (9C) and Ishmeet kaur (8C) were second and third respectively.

Karate is a Japanese martial art form. Karate strengthens the entire body, improves co-ordination, quickens reflexes, builds stamina and overall health.
