Jamshedpur, March 14: Tension gripped Rajendra Vidyalaya in Sakchi as irate parents stormed the campus, blaming school authorities for failing their children in the exams. The situation escalated, prompting police intervention. Parents insisted that their children be promoted while blaming the school authorities for mismanagement. It may be mentioned that around 100 students of grades IX and XI in the science and commerce streams had failed in the examinations. The school’s interim Principal, Jayanti Singh, stated that 64 students fell short by a few marks, with all failing to meet the mandatory 75% attendance.
“School adheres to the rules and regulations of the council, which do not include provisions for re-examination or promotion of failed students, said the principal adding, “the rules in place state that students who have failed to meet the required academic standards cannot be promoted to the next grade.”
This statement comes amidst growing pressure from parents advocating for the promotion of their children, even those who have failed in multiple subjects.
Parents countered, claiming their children had attended school regularly. Despite pleas, the school administration remained adamant, refusing to promote the students.
The contentious issue has left students in limbo, with their academic futures hanging in the balance. Despite repeated explanations from the school administration, parents remain steadfast in their demand for leniency towards their children’s academic performance.
Furthermore, it has come to light that the reasons for students failing vary, with some falling short due to subpar marks while others have been hindered by poor attendance records.

Irregularities in poor attendance must be discussed,mass failure is a shameful for a reputed school like Rajendra Vidyalaya.
The rules are made to be complied and not violated for favouring. A transparent policy will eliminate such imbroglio.

Well done, RV!! Examples need to be set. Students prefer going to IITJEE coaching classes at the cost of their school classes. This is wrong at so many different levels! I am also a parent and an IITian. I can say with enough conviction that you might be able to enter IIT after studying at the likes of Prerna who work on guesswork and rote learning. But once inside IIT, you will struggle badly because you have been permanently screwed by Prerna style of learning
This is sad. Students need to straighten their act. Focus on school and not coaching
Attendance shouldn’t be counted if the students are studying properly. Marks and grades should be the first priority for the school inspite of the attendance. And in every school of Jamshedpur conduct retest if students fails in IX and XI .
Proud of RV. Takes guts to do something like this. Prerna Classes is trying to make IIT robots out of students through highly archaic and outdated style of coaching. All schools should take action against students who bunk classes for Prerna. High time! And someone pls put this money mongering machine Vikas Tank in place. Minting money by making fool out of people.
