Jamshedpur: The IPL, the festival of cricket in India, is bringing its Fan Park initiative to Jamshedpur on 22nd and 23rd of April.
The initiative was started in 2015 in 15 different cities and it aims to bring the IPL to newer audience. This year it will be happening in 36 cities over 21 different states throughout the country.
On 22nd and 23rd April, it will be held in Jamshedpur at the G Town Ground, Bistupur. The fan park initiative aims to bring out stadium like experiences for the residents of the cities that do not host IPL matches.
Over the weekend there will be giant screens set up at the venue that will be broadcasting the live action from Vivo IPL 2017.Furthermore the entry will be free, and there will be music and multiple stalls for merchandise, food, beverages and other facilities by IPL’s official sponsors, which will add to the scintillating atmosphere.
The primary objective is to bring families together so that they can have a stadium like experience in their own city, hence there are special arrangements made to make it an event that women and children friendly. The entry for the event is free but on a first come first serve basis because of limited number of seats. It is the first time the city of Jamshedpur will be hosting the fan park of the IPL.
The entry for the double header game starts at 3 PM and 5 PM for the second match. The entry time stops at 10:30 PM for all the guests. As per the law the sounds will stop at 10PM, but the screening of the match will continue till the end. Each person entering the event will be given an access band (a wrist band) that only allows the person to attend the Fan Park at that venue.
The event will happen both on Saturday as well as Sunday, at G-Town Ground, Bistupur. The first match on Saturday is between Rising Pune Super-giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad, while the next one is a contest between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils.
On Sunday, the first match is between Gujarat Lions and Kings XI Punjab and following this encounter is the blockbuster match between two favorites the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.
An amazing initiative to promote IPL, the fan park promises to be an overwhelming experience for the cricket fans in Jamshedpur.
