The ecosystem is interlinked and if one species in the food web ceases to exist, one or more members in the rest of the chain cease to exist too. To preserve and promote biodiversity in the region, we have chalked out a detailed plan to develop three parks which will include a butterfly and a reptile park as well.”

Addressing the gathering, Mahto lauded the efforts of Tata Steel towards promoting conservation of biodiversity and cleanliness in the region. He also urged everyone to use dustbins and keep West Bokaro clean and green.

To make the programme more exciting, the students of St Peter’s High School and Vivekanand High School performed skit on biodiversity that was appreciated by one and all. Prizes were given to the winners of various competitions on this occasion.

Among others present on the occasion were officials of Tata Steel, Union representatives, employees, community people and school children.
