Jamshedpur: The All India Inter Steel Plants Handball Championship concluded on Thursday.
The tournament was conducted from December 18-20 at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. The team representing Tata Steel emerged victorious in the Final by defeating Bhilai Steel by 26-20, after a closely contested and enthralling match.
Ashish Kumar, Head Sports, Kamlendu Mishra, Observer, Steel Plants Sports Board (SPSB), and V Ramkrishna, Sr. Manager TFA & Sports felicitated the winners.
Syed Azhar Hussain (Tipu) from Tata Steel was adjudged as the Best Player of the tournament because of his stellar performance throughout the Championship, having scored a total of 25 goals. He also impressed the judges by scoring 12 goals in the Final.
Tousif Khan from Tata Steel was declared as the Best Goalkeeper of the Championship. The tournament was a resounding success and a reiteration of Tata Steel�s culture of promoting sports in India.
