Jamshedpur, Oct 29: Ahsien International School has organized a two-day inter-school handball competition at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on October 29 and 30. The tournament was inaugurated on Wednesday by international archery coach and Dronacharya and Padma Shri awardee Purnima Mahato.

The opening ceremony was graced by Olympic Games official representative and Jharkhand Badminton Association Secretary Prabhakar Rao, and international boxer and Jharkhand Boxing Association Treasurer Rajiv Kumar Verma. Dr. Hassan Imam Malik, international handball coach and executive, Health and Wellness, Sports Division, Tata Steel, encouraged the young players as a special guest.

Asif Mahmood, Managing Trustee of the Ahsien Foundation, addressed the gathering with motivating words, while Chief Guest Purnima Mahato highlighted the importance of sportsmanship and discipline. Vice Principal Deepa Kumari and Administrator Saman Asif were also present.
Teams from Church School Beldih, KHS Sakchi, KPS Burmamines, DAV Patel Nagar, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Telco, DAV NIT, and Ahsien International School are taking part. The first day witnessed exciting matches and impressive performances from all teams, making the event’s opening day a grand success.
Church School clinches girls’ title
Jamshedpur, Oct 29: The two-day inter-school handball tournament, hosted by Ahsien International School, kicked off on Wednesday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. In the girls’ category, Church School delivered an outstanding performance to claim the championship title, while KPS Burmamines secured the runners-up position. In the boys’ category, teams from Church School, Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Ahsien International School, and DAV NIT advanced to the semi-finals. The boys’ semi-final and final matches are scheduled for Thursday.
