Jamshedpur, Sep 6: The much-anticipated Inter-School Football Tournament 2024 began today at Loyola School Telco, featuring eleven schools from across the city. Chief Guest Dr. Ajoy Kumar, an avid football fan, inaugurated the event by ceremonially kicking off the first ball. In his speech, Dr. Kumar highlighted the importance of such tournaments in fostering sportsmanship and providing a platform for young athletes to grow and excel. The ceremony also included the symbolic release of balloons, signalling the official start of the tournament.
The first match saw Loyola School, Bistupur face off against Loyola School Telco, with both teams displaying energy and enthusiasm. Father KM Joseph, Rector of Loyola School, along with other dignitaries, including Charanjeet Ohson, Principal of Loyola School Telco, and Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Principal of Loyola School Bistupur, were present to support the young athletes.
The participating teams paraded in front of an eager crowd, setting the tone for the two-day event filled with exciting matches. The tournament will conclude with the crowning of the champions, celebrating youth talent and teamwork in the spirit of friendly competition.
