Jamshedpur, May 14: In a thriller of a final match of the JSCA Inter district U-16 (elite group) tournamnet Jamshedpur beat Ranchi by three wickets to hold the champions trophy on Wednesday.
In the match played at Birsa Munda cricket stadium Ranchi captain won the toss and decided to bat first scoring 218/8 in 40 overs with Aakash Dev Roshan scoring 73 while Navneet 32 and Kanishk Raj Kaushik scored 51 runs.
Jamshedpur bowlers Hemant Kumar took 2 wickets, Chandan Mukhi took 2 while Juniad Ashraf, Ashish Kumar and Rajnish Shukla took a wicket each.
Chasing 219 runs to win Jamshedpur batsman made 222 in 39.2 overs with 3 wickets remaining with the help of Roshan Barla who scored 56 runs, sanjat Kumar scored 53 while Hemant Kumar scored 38 runs.
Ranchi bowlers Subham Kumar and Navneet Jha took 2 wickets each while Ishan Thakur, Ashif Haq and Iftiqar Adil took a wicket each handing a three wicket win to Jamshedpur.
In the post match presentation Chief Guest was Assistnat Secretary of JSCA Aseem Kumar Singh gave away the trophy to the winners and runners up. Rs 5000 was awarded to thr winner team of Jamshedpur while Ranchi got Rs 3000. Jamshedpur Captain Roshan Barla was awarded the man of the match.
