Jamshedpur: The Mineral Task Force, following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, is currently conducting an intensive investigation campaign against illegal mineral traders in the district. Recently, four hyvas were seized in a raid for illegal transportation of sand on Maubhandar road under Ghatshila police station. During the inquiry, it was found that the vehicle drivers did not have any transport challan related to sand mineral. As a result, an FIR has been registered against all vehicle drivers and vehicle owners under various relevant sections, including Sections 4 and 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, and Rule 54 of the Jharkhand Minor Mineral Grant Rules, 2004. The DC has instructed the officers involved in the District Mineral Task Force to conduct a continuous and intensive investigation campaign against illegal mineral traders in all police station areas. The district administration is taking strict action against illegal mining, transportation, and storage of minerals.
