Initiative to increase voter turnout gather pace in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In an effort to bolster democratic participation, a comprehensive voter awareness campaign unfolded in the district, evoking spirited enthusiasm among residents as they pledged their commitment to the upcoming festival of voting during the Lok Sabha elections.

The voter awareness initiative spanned across the district, with participants hailing from various sections, including schools, government institutions, industrial units, MNREGA, and Sahiya Didis, who took the voter oath. The campaign, aimed at amplifying the voting percentage in the upcoming elections, focused on motivating urban residents to actively engage in the democratic process.

The event witnessed an active participation of citizens who pledged to exercise their voting rights. Photos and videos capturing the voter oath moments flooded social media platforms, creating a ripple effect of awareness and encouragement.

As part of the campaign, an impactful awareness rally was organized under the SWEEP programme. Participants, displaying immense enthusiasm, not only took part in the rally but also actively motivated their fellow citizens to exercise their right to vote.

In addition to the widespread citizen participation, officials and employees at the district headquarters administered the voter oath, emphasizing the importance of fair and free voting. The campaign extended its reach to all departmental offices and blocks, ensuring a comprehensive coverage of the district.

Highlighting the significance of voting, Sahiya Didis creatively expressed the importance through rangoli in different areas. As a token of appreciation, young voters, Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) voters, and senior voters were honored during the campaign.

The outreach of the campaign further extended to industrial units, where voter oath was administered, and the importance of voting was elucidated through impactful videos and street plays. A signature campaign was also conducted, with people pledging to exercise their right to vote.
