Ranchi, Nov. 14: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the government was working to eradicate poverty from the state. “We want educated and civilized Jharkhand. Kartik Oraon also wanted educated and prosperous Jharkhand,” he said on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Kartik Oraon.
Das said that politically-biased people should not oppose the developmental plans of the state government. “Despite being a rich state, the people of Jharkhand are poor.
The government wants to provide electricity to the houses left out so far. Schools will be provided with benches and desks. Infrastructural facilities will be developed and migration will be stopped. This is a government committed for the welfare of poor and marginalized class of the society,” he said.
The CM said that Sakhi mandals are being made and connected with poultry. “Efforts are being put in on part of the government to increase income of village people.
Local carpenters have been given work of making 30,000 benches and desks. We want to give work to every hand and water to every farm. Farm ponds, ponds and check dams are being made on mission mode and children and youths are being connected with skill development programme.
Some of the schools run by Welfare Department will be given to Aadivasi Vikash Parishad,” he said.
Das earlier today garlanded a statue of Kartik Oraon. Among others present on the occasion included MP Ram Tahal Choudhary, MLAs Shiv Shankar Oraon, Navin Jaiswal, Gangotri Kujur and national Secretary of the Parishad Dr Laxman Oraon.
