IPRD organizes Vikas Mela cum exhibition in Seraikela

Seraikela, Aug 2: Vikas Mela cum exhibition was organized at Seraikela Community Centre under the aegis of district Information and Public Information Department (IPRD), Seraikela-Kharsawan on Friday.
The chief guest of the occasion was deputy commissioner Anjanayelu Dodde. Addressing the gathering at the inaugural function, he said it is crucial to inform the masses about various development projects and welfare schemes being run by the Central and state governments. If people are well-informed, they will be in a better position to benefit from the schemes.
Dodde said it was often seen that unsuspecting people were cheated by middlemen due to sheer ignorance. Such incidents will stop only if the people are well-informed about government schemes, he said.
Superintendent of Police Karthik S was also present during the event. He said the district police was doing its best to eradicate Naxalism from the district. He appealed to people to pay no heed to any rumour or unconfirmed news circulating on social media. He said incidents like mob lynching were a blot on the name of the district which is better known for Chhau dance and various achievements of the people. He appealed to people to plant more trees and participate in positive activities to build a nation.
