Noamundi: The information cum Computer Centre and Study Centre set up by Khairpal Yuvak Sangh at Khairpal Middle School in assistance with Tata Steel was inaugurated today by J B Tubid, Secretary, Revenue and Cabinet Secretary, Government of Jharkhand, and M C Thomas, General Manager(OMQ), Tata Steel respectively.
Tata Steel has provided six computers, six computer tables, one scanner cum printer and one projector for the information Cum Computer Centre. The first batch began from April, 2014 in which around 100 students are enrolled for the computer class. It is open for senior students during the school hours and beyond school timings it is open for the villager�s as well. The youth from nearby 20 villages have enrolled for the course. This is the first school in Majhaon and Manjhari blocks which is privileged to have computers for its students.
While addressing the gathering J B Tubid, who was the chief guest appreciated the initiatives of Tata Steel and encouraged students to avail the benefit, become computer savvy and keep their pace with the latest technological development. M C Thomas, guest of honour on the occasion said that it is very exciting to find 100 children in computer class. He also appreciated library facility for rural talent. We can do good for villages through these facilities, he added.
During the function prizes were jointly distributed to the winners of various competitions held such as Essay, Poem, Sit and draw competitions by J B Tubid, M C Thomas, GM(OMQ), Tata Steel , Krishnandan, Ashish Kumar, Urmilla Ekka, Lekhraj Nag, BDO,Majhgaon and Rina Biruli, district panchayat member.
The inauguration function witnessed more than 700 students along with Munda, Manki, Lekhraj Nag, BDO, Majhgaon, headmasters of nearby schools, retired teachers, ward members of panchayat, members of panchayat samiti and officials from Tata Steel.
