Jamshedpur, Sept 2: Organized by the women�s wing of Rajasthan Yuvak Mandal, the two day Indradhanush Mela got off to a brisk start today with legal practitioner Sangita Jha and Marwari Mahila Manch president Vibha Dudani inaugurating the fair by jointly cutting the tape and lighting the traditional lamp. The exhibition cum sale of decorative and handcrafted items as well as domestic appliances attracted a lot of visitors today. The Mela will end tomorrow, Tuesday, September 3 at 9 pm. The various stalls set up did good business from the fair�s inauguration till the time of closing at 9 pm.

Speaking on the occasion, Sangita Jha observed, �Today, women are in the forefront of major fields of activity. I laud the efforts of the Marwari Yuvak Manch�s women�s wing for organizing Indradhanush Mela to give a fillip to ladies who are persevering towards economic self dependence. �
Vibha Dudani went round the stalls and motivated the participating women. The MYM women�s wing secretary Sushila Khirwal said that the main purpose behind organizing the Indradhanush Mela was to further the aspiration of women marching towards economic self dependence.
A fancy dress competition was organized at the fair among children of age groups 2 to 6 years and 7 to 12 years. The winners were given prizes. The judges comprised Sujata Goyal and Kavita Dhut. The first prize was won by Arjun Sharma followed by Shivansh Goyal and Gopal Agrawal for the second and third spots respectively. Bhavya Barwalia, Devansh Agrawal and Aradhya Agrawal were given consolation prizes. The fancy dress programme was anchored by Saraswati Agrawal and the vote of thanks was offered by Ritu Garhwal.
Other dignitaries present at the inaugural proceedings were RYM president Vasudev Khemka, general secretary Mahesh Khirwal, Hari Mittal, Mahendra Garhwal, Raju Barwalia and Murari Agrawal. The organizing committee comprised Reshu Barwalia, Babita Bakrewal, Ankita Lodha, Kamlesh Agrawal, Sunita Garhwal, Satyabhama Khirwal, Babita Puria, Gita Murarka, Ankita Lodha, Ritu Sharma, Bina Khirwal, Vinita Naredi, Anu Mittal, Soni Poddar, Prabha Padia, Seema Agrawal, Sunita Agrawal, Lata Khirwal, Bindiya Garhwal, Kanchan Khirwal and Manju Puria.
A microwave cooking session for women will be conducted on September 3, Tuesday, the second and concluding day from 11 am. Anu of Aqua Parlor will provide beauty tips at 4 pm. The chief guests at the concluding ceremony will be Agrawal Mahila Club president Bindiya Garhwal and Surabhi branch chief Parul Chetani. They will be arriving at 5:30 pm.
