Jamshedpur, Oct 31: District congress workers led by President Vijay Khan today paid homage to Indira Gandhi the former Prime Minister of the country on her 30th death anniversary observed at Tilak Pustakalay in Bistupur.
After paying tribute to the former Prime Minister Indira, Khan lauded her efforts in bringing social and economic independence to the people of the country. “Indira Gandhi went against capitalists and landlords in a bid to realize economic equality in India.
But the opposition parties are playing dirty games of politics to degrade the works of Indira and thus the Gandhi family,” he added. “We should not listen or read what the RSS says or publishes as the organization has an infamous trait of manipulating the history. Rumour mongers are national enemies.
We are all aware about the remarkable works of Gandhi and Nehru.” District president also paid his rich tributes to the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and said his contribution in the freedom movement and towards farmers was immense in making India independent country.
On Modi skipping the event Vijay Khan said that disgraceful that the government is ignoring the martyrdom of Indira Gandhi who was killed in office.
Indira Gandhi cannot be overshadowed, no one can overshadow anyone as both Sardar patel and Indira Gandhi have contributed to the country which the country can never forget, Khan concluded.
At the event Senior Congress leaders Ramashray Prasad, Ajay Singh, Surya Rao, Kalyani Sharan and other party workers and leaders were present.
