Jamshedpur: All India Inter Steel Plants Boxing Championship being organized by the Sports Department of Tata Steel started off here on Tuesday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
Teams from six Steel Plants comprising Durgapur Steel Plant, Tata Steel, Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL), Rourkela Steel Plant, Bhilai Steel Plant, and Indian Steel Plant, Burnpur are participating in the championship.
A total of 150 boxers are participating in two categories, senior and sub junior.
The championship was inaugurated today by Mr. Jai Kumar, Regional, PF Commissioner, Kolhan along with Mr. Anil Bohidhar, Jt. Secy. IBF at 04.30 PM at JRD Tata Sports complex.
Mr. Charles Borromeo, Sr. Manager Sports and Secretary JBA welcomed the guests. Mr Satnam Singh, Mr Bagicha Singh, Mr Rajeev Mishra along with other employees of Sports Department and former boxers and officials were also present on the occasion.
